Electrolysis and Electro-surgery: I am infertile and have a tattoo
This Year
In electrolysis, an electic current is used to cause a non-spontaneous chemical reaction for separating parts of natural sources, such as electrolytic cells found in water that makes up much of the human body. Electro-surgery applies high-frequency electric current to biological tissue, such as skin, for cutting, drying, clotting or destroying. This type of surgery can be used in cosmetic procedures, such as facial reconstruction, or for medical purposes like removing tumors that cause infertility.
Infertility treatments: Electro-surgery and Laser Therapy
If you are already infertile, there are medical, surgical and assisted conception treatments to help you improve fertility for conception. Surgery for fallopian tube obstruction, endometriosis, polycystic ovaries, and fibroids may include electrolysis or electro-surgery to restore fertility. Assisted conception with In vitro fertilization (IVF) or Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) is also an option that includes laser therapy for “hatching” the egg. Lasers may also be used during surgery to remove hair, seal blood vessels, reopen arteries and reduce scaring.
Pregnancy and Laser Tattoo or Hair Removal
Laser therapy is also used for laser hair removal and laser tattoo removal, however, it is not recommended during pregnancy or assisted conception because of associated stress or anxiety, and the possibility of infection as a side-effect. If you are not pregnant and not using assisted conception, then having a tattoo removed by a qualified medical or cosmetic doctor using laser therapy is a relatively safe procedure.
